Grant Elliott
Grant has played over 100 games for New Zealand over all three cricketing formats. With over 20 years of professional cricket experience and 0ver 15 years of corporate experience, Grant understands what tools and character is needed to perform in the corporate world. Currently working as a partnership manager for Life flight and running his own business Hairy Javelin, he also mentors and manages world class athletes to achieve their goals. He is passionate about individuals reaching their potential and creating team environments fertile enough to make the impossible possible. He made it into the New Zealand folklore book by propelling New Zealand into their first ever world cup cricket final in a tense encounter with his country of birth.
Kieran Read
Kieran has spent the past 15 years playing professional rugby in New Zealand and Japan. Playing over 150 games for the Crusaders and 127 tests for the All Blacks. A 4 time Super Rugby and 2 times Rugby World Cup Winner, I captained both the Crusaders and All Blacks for long periods, becoming the second most capped All Black captain with 52 tests. Kieran has completed an Applied Management Degree and a Diploma of Sport and Exercise Science. With a passion for leadership and helping others improve, rugby has given me ultimate lessons and learning opportunities in the leadership space. Working in a high performance team, being involved in establishing team culture and performing under pressure to name a few.
Dr. Daniel Plews
Dan Plews is an applied sports scientist, researcher, and coach with an impressive track record. Specializing in exercise physiology, Dan has worked with athletes who have claimed more than 35 World and Olympic titles across rowing, kayaking, and triathlon. His academic credentials are equally notable—Dan completed a PhD in applied heart rate variability (HRV), focusing on its use to track training adaptation in elite athletes. His research has since led to over 70 peer-reviewed publications in applied sports science and exercise physiology. Dan’s expertise extends to leadership roles, including serving as Head of Physical Performance for Emirates Team New Zealand during their victorious 2021 America’s Cup campaign and leading Performance Physiology for Women’s Canoe Racing New Zealand. He’s also the founder of Endure IQ, a platform dedicated to endurance training, education and performance. Not just a scientist, Dan is also a world-class athlete. In 2018, he set the amateur course record at the Ironman World Championships in Kona with a time of 8 hours and 24 minutes. In 2023, at the age of 41, he became the first amateur athlete to break the 8-hour barrier in an Ironman, finishing in an incredible 7 hours and 56 minutes. Dan’s unique combination of scientific expertise and practical experience reveals how the principles of high performance in sport can also transform success in the workplace. In this session, Dan will share actionable insights on optimizing recovery, training, and day-to-day performance for the “corporate athlete.” Drawing on his background in HRV and wearable technology, he will demonstrate how to leverage data to ensure you’re getting the best outcomes from specific behaviours, while also highlighting strategies to periodize and monitor workloads and stress levels—just like a professional athlete.
Dr. Alia Bojilova
Dr Alia Bojilova is a published author, a registered psychologist, global keynote speaker and facilitator, and a prolific expert in leadership, resilience and curiosity. Described as insightful, inspiring, energetic and restlessly committed to ‘better - always’, Alia has led, consulted and facilitated at the highest levels of complexity. She has served as an enabler to thousands of leaders, teams and organisations in some of the most testing environments, globally and in New Zealand. Alia’s deepest passions are in making bold ways to build, broaden and nurture capacity for thriving, and in fueling curiosity and insatiable appetite for growth and contribution. As a leader and facilitator, Alia works across the fields of Venture Capital, peak performance sports, Government, the commercial sector, creative industries, education, health and the not-for- profit Alia served as an officer in the New Zealand Defence Force, including in the role of the lead psychologist for the New Zealand SAS. She is a recipient of the United Nations Commendation and the Inaugural Meritorious Service Medal for successfully negotiating critical incidents in the Middle East. Alia’s currently works as a Partner in two Venture firms, in New Zealand and North AmericaA highly experiential session, using cutting-edge science from the ABCD model for resilience. We break down the non-negotiables for sustained peak performance and build the habits to thrive. We experiment with: Awareness: “Getting down to the absolute signal”; harness awareness to thrive, sustain peak performance, reduce interference, and drive outstanding outcomes. “Belonging - to - better” – Understand the functions of belonging in sustaining and increasing motivation for ourselves and our teams. We explore how we must align values, motivations and aspirations to pivot and adapt so that we achieve and surpass expectations. Curiosity- “from woe to wonder”.
